Central Health aims to promote healthy lifestyles.
We work with the community to address health issues by providing education, advice and support, health assessments and nursing care. The mobile primary nursing service is delivered by a highly skilled team that include 2 registered nurses and 1 community health worker.
All our services are FREE
Our Mobile nursing service provides a comprehensive range of services to cater for every age group, these include:
Tamariki (children 0-12years)
- asthma education
- immunisation services
- injury prevention advice
Rangatahi (13 – 20years)
- sex education
- smoking cessation
- alcohol and drug education
- fitness/nutrition programmes
- HPV advice/immunisation
Wahine (women)
- contraception and sexual health
- cervical screening (FREE monthly clinics)
- mammography referrals
- family planning
- nutrition advice
Tane (Men)
- Health Checks
- Cardio Vascular Risk Assessments
- Assistance with fitness and mobility
- Healthy Lifestyles Programme
Pakeke (adult) & Kaumatua/Kuia (Senior Citizens)
- fitness and mobility programmes
- nutrition programmes
- respiratory disorders/asthma and COPD
- Diabetes testing
School Based Nursing
- We currently provide a Registered Nurse who provides a weekly 5 day clinic to all the students at Te Aute College
KHW/Te Ara Tuatahi
Central Health is proud to be one of the Providers delivering the Kahagnunu Hikoi Whenua (KHW) populations health initiative.
